SIT #103

the lighting in the office/scrap room is simply awful!! I wanted to get these layouts done in time to post before time ran out! So waiting 'til daylight tomorrow was not an option...although I think I may retake the pictures then as well!! here is the sketch for Sketches In Thyme #103 - a two-pager!:
and here is what I came up with:
I like page 1 much better...the "parade" part of the title does not show up that great. Will try to do better later!
Now my husband has gone to the gym but he is stopping by Michael's with a 40% off coupon 'cos I ran out of ATG tape and still need a journaling pen!!! Isn't he the greatest?!

Let's Get Sketchy!

I saw this week's sketch over at Let's Get Sketchy!:
and was so excited because I knew which photos and products I wanted to use for the challenge! Here is the layout I created:
I used my Silhouette for the title "Snow" and the red chevron arrow. The word blocks are from "Authentique" and the rest are all from "My Little Yellow Bicycle." My husband took the photos and yes, that is his footprint in the snow! Crazy, I know! This was so much fun for me to create!

what a gorgeous morning!

hi all! it is an absolutely gorgeous morning! beautiful sunshine, crisp air, a cool windy day! I have lots to do today and a busy week...I am going slow though and savoring the sunshine! I have a layout to share today and it's very simple and unassuming. I needed to scrap photos without trying any new techniques or use any medium or lots of embellishments. This is what I came up with:
I really needed to do this clean and simple like. So I did! I plan on scrapping some more today and I'm off to do just that! Have a great day!

Sketches In Thyme #101

there's a new sketch reveal over at Sketches In Thyme:
I immediately knew the photos I wanted to use and loved playing around with these papers from doodlebug design inc. from, honestly, years ago! So here is my take on sketch #101:

a rainy day!

it's a very rainy day but it is very much needed!! I like rain!! so I did get another 6 flags layout done yesterday:
I "scraplifted" a technique I liked from a fellow scrapper...here is her post: http://laurielariviere.blogspot.com/2013/02/anthony-turns-5.html I love Laurie's work!!!
so I tried the paint splatters and I really liked it! I will hopefully do more soon in order to become experienced at it! here are some close ups:

February Main Challenge #24- Home

February Main Challenge-Home is Where the Heart Is

Hello! It's Felicity bringing you this challenge that I hope leaves you feeling warm and snug, and as comfortable as your favorite old slippers.

This month's challenge is to scrap about where you feel most at home.

And the Scrap Twist is to use a tag or journal block to include the details. A picture tells a thousand words, but sometimes there are details the picture can't tell. Share your story of home with us. Where do you call home? How does it make you feel?

To me, home is where the heart is. It is the place where you find peace and comfort, easy familiarity and a sense of belonging. That's how I felt when I found Scrapping Everyday Miracles. I had been wandering around a little aimlessly at church and with my religious studies. Yes, I was learning a lot and I met some lovely people who shared their beliefs with me, but I couldn't really place my newfound faith until I had a way to express it, to live it, to share it. Something just 'clicked' the very first time I hopped over to this blog. I knew I had found somewhere to call home.

Perhaps you feel most at home in a location - a family home, your church, or where you grew up. Maybe home is in the arms of loved ones, a partner, or a dear friend. Home could be a remembered place, triggered by a scent or a sound. For me, the scent of gardenias on a sunny day brings back a flood of memories from my childhood and the place we called home for 13 years. Where will you find home?
